First times are scary... and exciting. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I decided to go at his place to meet his mom and sister. I'm so kilig when he said he wants to introduce his girlfriend to his mom. Haha! I'm so mababaw I know! He went to our house first to fetch me and to meet Daddy Ermitanio. The first time he went to our house, my dad wasn't around so he hasn't met my dad yet. Below is a conversation with my dad before Marion came over:
Me: Pa, punta po si Marion dito.
Papa: Bakit?
Me: *sounding scared haha* Sunduin niya po ako tapos po punta kami Toastmasters tapos po dinner sa kanila.
Papa: Siya na ba?
Me: Uhmm...opo.
Maybe I gave my dad a little heart attack when I said that. Hahaha! I know my parents still think of me as their little girl and whenever I'd joke them that I'll be having a boyfriend soon, they'd just roll their eyes. But this is it! Haha! I've finally found the guy I'm sooooo proud and happy to introduce to my family as my boyfriend.
Marion and my dad had a "small talk". I was amazed how my boyfriend made the conversation with my dad so light. Napakama-PR talaga kahit kelan! He talked about how we met, when we officially got together (yeah pati yun kinuwento niya and all I was able to do was roll my eyes haha!), his family etc. It even came to the point that they were both talking in Ilocano! Mygulay and I could not understand a thing! Magkakasundo nga talaga sila ng papa ko. Hahaha! I don't know how he does that pero he's such a great conversationalist. Andami nila napagusapan ng papa ko.
When we left our house, I jokingly said to Marion, "Naku po. Parang mas marami pa kayo napagkwentuhan ng papa ko kesa sa pagkwkwentuhan namin ah. Close agad?!" He laughed and he said he'll teach me Ilocano so I'd understand them when they talk. I know I'm such a fake Ilocana!!! My dad was born at Nueva Vizcaya so technically my siblings and I were half Ilocanos but sadly none of us can speak the dialect. It such a bonus that I found a guy who's a half Ilocano sooooo magkakasundo sila ng papa ko. While they were talking, my thought bubble went "Wow.Ayos tong bf ko ah. Nagprepare pa ng spiel in Ilocano" Hahaha!
So, its time to meet the Evangelistas. While inside the car, I asked him, "Babe, kinabahan ka ba kanina bago mo imeet papa ko?" He answered, "Nope. Bat naman ako kakabahan? Uy wag ka kabahan ah. I'm sure magugustuhan ka ng mama ko." Maybe he sensed I'm a little nervous to meet his mom...Okay, I'm not nervous. I just want to make a good impression, who doesn't right? And I'm kinda pressured because Marion made a good impression with my mom the first time he went to our house so kelangan ako din. Competitive lang?! Lol. The night before I asked my officemates what to wear before the BIG DAY. Hahaha yun talaga ang pinroblema ko eh no? It's been ages since I last experienced "meet the Fockers" as they say. I remember a friend told me, "Sus, madali ka naman magustuhan ng mga nanay ng mga boylet mo eh. Ma-PR ka naman eh." They say I really have this charm on moms. Hmmm.let's see.
We had dinner at his place. It's such a relief that his mom and sister are super nice. Funny while we're eating, they keep on asking Marion to get more food, get the rice, etc. Then her sister told me "Sana lagi na lang nandito si Ate (pertaining to me) para lagi nauutusan si kuya" and her mom agreed and said "Pa-impress sayo. Pag kami kami lang di mautusan yan eh" Wahahaha! Huli ka boy!
I definitely had fun meeting his family. Too bad his dad wasn't around during that time so I wasn't able to meet Daddy Evangelista. I also learned a lot more about my boyfriend through his mom. Plus, Marion was so proud to show me his room. We often tease each other on how OC he is with his things and how "makalat" okay makalat is not the term...hmmm..ma-abubot my room is. Feeling ko lalagnatin yun pag may konting nausog lang sa gamit niya eh while me...hmmm I like it messy yahknow...mas colorful kasi. Lol. Hahaha opposites do attract.
This is such a fun weekend!:)
